New to Orienteering? If you are new to orienteering, please make yourself known to the organiser at registration and advice will be available.
Start and Finish: both close to the Car Park.
Terrain: Typical city park with open spaces and trees.
Courses have been planned to avoid controls sited close to water, but please be aware of the local wildlife, especially the nesting swans by the river.

Medium: Courses B & C
Scatter Course: You must visit all of the controls, but in any order.

Control Collection: Volunteers willing to collect in a few controls each after the courses close would be much appreciated.
Safety: A risk assessment has been carried out by the Organiser and all reasonable care has been taken to ensure the safety of competitors. However, participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. .
Please note: Abbey Park is very popular and busy with cyclists and pedestrians, especially when the sun is shining . So please be aware and considerate of other park users and take care around dogs.
Take care on running around tight corners, especially around the Chinese Gardens and the bridges over the river.
There is a first aid kit located at download. For any injuries that require further intervention, a walk-in centre and A&E are located at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Summer League
The 2025 LEI Summer League consists of 17 events taking place from April to August on midweek evenings with Starts usually from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. They include Long, Score, Sprint and Urban events.
