{"id":405,"date":"2013-11-15T17:34:30","date_gmt":"2013-11-15T17:34:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.leioc.org.uk\/wordpress\/?page_id=405"},"modified":"2026-01-02T09:28:26","modified_gmt":"2026-01-02T09:28:26","slug":"join-the-club","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.leioc.org.uk\/wordpress\/new-to-o\/join-the-club\/","title":{"rendered":"Join the Club"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"#join\">Join On-line<\/a> <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#renew\">Renew Membership<\/a> <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#news\">Newsletter<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#clothing\">Club Clothing<\/a> <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"#hire\">Hire or Loan Dibber and compass<\/a> <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h3>Membership Rules<\/h3>\n<p>Members must agree to abide by the rules of orienteering, these are quite extensive and include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishorienteering.org.uk\/rules\">competition rules<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leioc.org.uk\/wordpress\/safeguarding\/\">safeguarding<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishorienteering.org.uk\/doc\/policies-and-guidance\/trans-policy\">trans competition policy<\/a> (PDF download)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>British Orienteering Membership<\/h3>\n<p>British Orienteering has four membership categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Senior \u2013 any member aged 26 or older at the end of the membership year<\/li>\n<li>Young Adult \u2013 member 21 to 25 at the end of the membership year<\/li>\n<li>Junior \u2013 any member aged 20 or younger at the end of the membership year<\/li>\n<li>Family \u2013 Maximum of two adults and 1 or more juniors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is reduction in the fees between 1st May and 31st August (pay 2\/3rds) and between 1st September and 31st December will pay one-third of the annual membership fee.<\/p>\n<p>When joining British Orienteering you will become a member of an affiliated club ( i.e. LEI) and association (i.e. EMOA). The membership fee includes that for the appropriate club and association.<\/p>\n<p>The membership year is the calendar year.<\/p>\n<h3>Fees<\/h3>\n<p>From September 1st members you can join or renew your membership for 2027, the costs are \u00a36 for a junior and \u00a318 for a senior. See Link to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leioc.org.uk\/members\/club-shop\/\">Club Shop<\/a> page.<br>You can run in any clothing but for the CST and YBT National final we prefer all juniors to wear club tops.
