A late change to the car parking made for a longish walk to the start and from the finish but gave a much better parking area. Had the weather been less kind to us parking on the original site at the bottom of the valley would have been “interesting”

Holding an event between Christmas and New Year was an experiment for the club as we were unsure how many people would want to forsake all the counter attractions and turn up for a run. The numbers justified holding the event and we will probably hold another at the same time next year – if we can find a set of officials who can be persuaded to cut short their festivities.

My thanks to the club members who helped on the day and especial thanks to Iain and Ernie (and to Barbara and Wendy who can have their husband’s back for New Year) for all their hard work.

I hope you enjoyed LEI’s 40th event of the year. We start again on 1st January 2008.

I hope you all enjoyed your courses – the winning times were much as expected since Grange Wood can’t offer too many technical challenges, I
hope I caught some of you out!

The longer than planned walks to the start
and from the finish were caused by a change in car park and the decision not to change them as it allowed the shorter courses to visit the nicer parts of Workmans Wood and be a little more “interesting” - it was good to see so many juniors out. The weather was kind to us even though it was a little blustery at the car park.
