NW Leicestershire Primary Schools 17th March

Over 450 primary schools children competed in the 30 minute score race on Thursday morning at Donisthorpe. The winning pair found all the controls, but despite time penalties managed to hold off their rivals. 16 pairs found the hardest control on the course, a boulder, in the middle of the woods.

The team event, with the best four to count, was won by Hill Top School, Ashby. Snarestone were 10 points behind and Worthington a further 20 points behind. The results all depending on balancing the time penalties with the number of controls found.

All teams are welcome to enter the British Schools race at Bagworth in October. The race is slightly longer with more harder controls. Winning teams need to send four pairs either boys or girls. Prior to this the County Championships is on Tuesday 28th June.
