Urban Night Event Practice:
Consider which orienteering skills are more significant at night and in urban context? What aspects of your previous urban run could you improve on?
• Better route choice
• More frequent or more intensive map reading
• More accurate use of compass across open areas
• Speed control (when to go faster or slower)
• Planning a leg ahead
Focus on these during your run tonight.

Parking: is towards the north end of the lay-by opposite the entrance to Groby community college on Ratby Road.

courses: Short(1.8km 15m climb), Medium(2.9km 40m climb) and Long(4.2km 55m climb). You can expect to run 50 percent longer than the crow flies.

Maps are in UK/Leicestershire/Groby folder. To practice for Saturday, the Medium map might be PIN protected so you will need the PIN before starting.
