Wednesday 13 June 2018 LEI Summer League 8 Brock’s Hill Sprint Event

Notes:

Summer League: midweek evening event

Sprints: Short courses with many controls, requiring quick thinking to get seconds ahead of rivals.

Terrain: Paths network, immature woodland and some open areas.

Short Course: approximately 1.3km suitable for Juniors and beginners – Summer league Short scores apply.

Two Sprint Courses: called FAST and THINK. each are approximately 2km . Run FAST before THINK – Summer league Long scores apply to the total times. People who normally run Summer League Medium or Long courses should be able to complete both courses.
There will be an option to simply run the FAST course, with Summer League points being awarded in an appropriate manner

Start/Finish: near car park

Courses close: 8:15pm

Summer League 2018
The 2018 LEI Summer League consists of 19 events taking place from April to August. They include long, score, sprint and urban events. Your top 10 scores count on the league table. See Summer League page for the full list of fixtures and the current league table.

Control Collection: Volunteers willing to collect in a few controls each after the courses close would be much appreciated.

Suitable for Beginners?: Beginners are welcome. Please arrive early and preferably let the organiser know in advance so that you can be sure to get advice from an experienced orienteer.
Large Groups?: If you intend to come to our event as part of a large group, eg Youth group, Scouts, Cubs, Athletic or running club, it would be helpful to let the Organiser know in advance. This ensures we can have enough maps available for you and avoid disappointment.
